To comply with Twilio’s A2P 10DLC requirements and maintain a clear separation of data and messaging traffic, an ISV type 1 architecture has been implemented.
ISV Architecture No. 1
- Utilizes subaccounts and are assigned to individual clients.
- It uses messaging services.
Type 1 is the preferred architecture for A2P 10DLC onboarding because messaging traffic for each client is clearly separated by subaccounts. This allows for simpler analytical tracking and minimizes the impact of any potential non-compliant traffic from one client on the rest of their clients.
Onboarding Steps
For each of your clients with A2P 10DLC messaging use cases:
- Create a secondary client profile in the client’s subaccount.
- Register a brand in the client’s subaccount.
- Register campaigns for each messaging use case. Each use case should be assigned to its own messaging service in the same subaccount.
If your ISV also has A2P 10DLC messaging use cases:
- Create a primary client profile in your main account.
- Register a brand in your main account.
- Register campaigns for each messaging use case. Each use case should be assigned to its own messaging service in the same account.
Steps to Add a New Client
Before starting the registration process for A2P10DLC, I need to gather certain information to ensure everything goes smoothly.
*If I have a U.S. entity or an international tax identification, I should use that tax identification to register my business profile and avoid brand registration failures, as DUNS numbers are not accepted. To complete the standard and low-volume registration, I need an EIN or, if my entity is outside the U.S., another form of official tax identification.
Business Information
The information I need to gather includes:
- my business name
- physical address
- business identity (whether I am a direct customer, ISV, reseller, or partner)
- business type (such as partnership, corporation, cooperative, LLC, or non-profit)
- company status (private or public)
- ticker and stock exchange if public
- the number and type of tax identification or business registration. If I use an EIN, I should look for my CP 575 letter from the IRS, and if I can’t find it, I can request a replacement called a 147c letter.
- industry
- website
- regions where I operate.
With this information, you will be able to register efficiently.
Points of Contact
An email address for notifications. We recommend using distribution lists if you have multiple users who want to receive notifications. An authorized representative with the following information:
- Name
- Business Title
- Phone Number
- Job Position (Director/VP/GM/General Counsel/CEO/CFO)
- Providing a second authorized representative is optional.
*Note: Submit your business information correctly. Your registration information must match exactly what you provided to the IRS on the EIN letter when registering your business. For example, use your full legal business name, which includes all information provided before your business’s legal address, the correct EIN number, etc.
Information
For all information entered as part of this registration process, please note that the Campaign Registry (TCR) supports all “utf8mb4” supported characters. See the list of all Unicode 15.0 compatible scripts and characters here: https://www.unicode.org/charts/
When you register a brand and A2P campaign, you will be assigned a trust score that will determine your messaging performance to US networks, as well as the daily message limits for your mobile carrier. To get the best possible trust score, you must provide accurate and up-to-date information.

Determine Your Brand Type

- To determine which A2P brand is best for you, you should primarily consider your current and expected messaging traffic volume.
